Martinsburg Hosts RSLC Orientation
Martinsburg Hosts RSLC Orientation
By: mesh | October 4, 2019 | News
For the third year, our Martinsburg LAWV office hosted the Rural Summer Legal Corps (RSLC) orientation on May 30, 2019. RSLC is a program through Legal Services Corporation and Equal Justice Works that allows law students the chance to serve rural clients through participating legal aid organizations across the U.S.
For orientation, the students travel from Washington, D.C. to Martinsburg, where they participate in a walking tour of the areas surrounding Martinsburg’s office, including a tour of the Berkeley County Courthouse. LAWV staff presenters included Kelly Beck, supervising attorney in Martinsburg; Dane Henry, Attorney Training and Technology attorney; and Courtney Klus, former RSLC fellow and current Clarksburg attorney. This year’s fellows also heard from other local presentors, including LAWV Board Member Alyssa Sloan.
